Investment Casting

Metal Goods recommends investment casting (modern version of the very old lost wax process), when the complexity of the casting or the type of material would require either assembly of several items or expensive and engaging machining work. The designer in fact, by using this type of technology, is free to choose the most suitable alloy to manufacture the functional shapes required without the limits of other manufacturing techniques.

Many different industrial sectors have now turned to investment casting, not only due to the choice of technique, but also and more and more because of the economic benefit. The variety of materials which can be used is very wide: all types of steel, the special super alloys with nickel and cobalt bases are open air castable.
